We Groom Fur Friends

 I’ve loved animals all my life.  I have spent most of my life around horses and dogs.  After my kids started school, I decided I didn’t want to go back to office work.  What else is there?  Dogs!!  I started as a bather in September 2009 and began on the job training under a professional groomer.  I registered with IPG (International Pet Groomers) in the USA and began my certification.  Unfortunately, that association had some changes and the groomer I was training under left to pursue other avenues and that left me on my own.  So, I opened the salon under my own name, We Groom Fur Friends Pet Salon, in December 2015, and joined Canadian Professional Pet Stylists (CPPS) to continue my training for my Master Groomer Certificate.  Last fall I received my first certification in Short Legged Terriers.  I still need my certificate in three other practical tests and to write some exams but I aim to have this done in the next year or two, depending on certification availability.   When I’m not grooming or watching grooming videos, I’m watching my two boys, with my hubby, do what they do best, speed skating and karate.  And my youngest takes after his mom, he is training his little dog to do some pretty neat tricks!
